Let’s begin with a small part of the story of this international organization, with world headquarters in Waltham, MA and a research facility in Cambridge, MA.

But first a reminder: we of Friends Meeting Cambridge sit silently in front of Raytheon with a few explanatory signs each 3rd Sunday, 10:45-11:45, carpooling from FMC at 10:30, thru the year, weather independent. All are invited.  On oct 15, 2017 we commemorate our 8th anniversary of public witness about war making at Textron (2000-2017) and Raytheon (since may 2017).

Now the story about Raytheon, specific to Israel but generalizable to our many other allies, a hint of why some of us choose this form of worship.
 

Raytheon Company

Raytheon is the world’s fourth-largest defense company and the largest producer of guided missiles. Over the last decade, it has participated in contracts worth over $4 billion to supply Israel with weapons. It has provided Israel with various missile systems and munitions, including GBU-28 “Bunker Buster” bombs, Bunker Defeat munitions, the Phalanx navy gun, and the AGM Maverick air-to-surface missile. It has also provided the Israeli Air Force with electronic systems and radars for its F-15 and F-16 aircrafts and air-to-air missiles such as the Sidewinder and the AMRAAM….
