I want to thank my representative, Congressman Joe Kennedy, for signing the letter to Speaker Paul Ryan asking for a serious discussion of our military engagement with ISIS and Syria. While we consider the possibility of further military engagement in the Middle East, I hope our State Department can continue to look for ways to alleviate the conditions, which gave rise to ISIS and the Syrian civil war. It is unfair, in my view, to order our military time after time to solve political problems with military force. It deserves a full debate in Congress and kudos to our congressmen James McGovern, Niki Tsongas and Kennedy for asking Congress to do its job.
