Statement on the Military Bond Bill

Massachusetts Peace Action opposes the “Military Bond Bill”, also known as “An Act Encouraging the Improvement, Expansion and Development of Military Installations in the Commonwealth”, H.3736, which was passed by the House of Representatives on November 13, 2013. We urge that this legislation not be passed, or at the very least be significantly modified.  The legislation is an unnecessary waste of taxpayer money, will probably not achieve the intended objective, and is not based on a comprehensive evaluation of the problem of declining military spending.
