Three years after the onset of the Great Recession, Washington is focused on cutting deficits instead of on creating jobs. Senator John Kerry is one of 12 members of a Super Committee charged with cutting $1.5 trillion from the deficit. Will he stand firm?
Join us at Sen. Kerry’s office to demand:
- Create jobs and get people back to work. Invest in infrastructure, green energy, education.
- Restore fairness to the tax system. Repeal the Bush tax cuts for incomes over $250,000.
- Hands Off Social Security. It does not contribute a penny to the deficit.
- Don’t limit access to health care. Don’t cut Medicaid or privatize Medicare.
- End the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Bring all our troops, contractors, and money home.
- Reduce military spending to meet our true defense needs. Invest the savings in a vibrant peacetime economy.
