The film the Koch brothers don’t want you to see is playing in Cambridge this week. With CITIZEN KOCH, Academy Award-nominated filmmakers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal shine a light on the issues surrounding the influence of money in politics and the devastating impact of 2010’s Citizens United ruling on our democracy. Come see it at the Brattle Theatre, 40 Brattle St. in Harvard Square, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at 5pm or 7pms. Peace Action’s Carol Coakley will co-lead a discussion after the Wednesday, 7pm show.

No War with Iran! Write Congress TODAY to tell them to support a negotiated nuclear deal with Iran. Mass. Peace Action’s delegation of 6 is in Washington today and tomorrow visiting Congressional offices, and another dozen people are bringing them message to local offices this week.

Boycott, Divest and Sing: Boston BDS Day of Action, July 9, 12:15 to 1:15 pm, Park Street Station. Join us as we celebrate the victories and confront the challenges still facing the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign. We will march through downtown Boston, stopping at several BDS targets–calling on pension fund TIAA-CREF to divest from occupation profiteers, Veolia to respect human rights, and Macy’s to stop selling SodaStream. Some of us will perform a musical flashmob- email suzipiet@gmail.com to join the dance.

Volunteers needed! Our next summer tabling dates will be at the Whaling City Festival in New Bedford on Saturday afternoon, July 12, from 12-6pm, and the Lowell Folk Festival on Saturday, July 26. We’ll be showing off our Nuclear Globe and our new petition, “Funding for Education – or for Nuclear Weapons?” Can you join us at one of these great events? Contact the office to help out!

Rebecca Gordon will speak on her new book “Mainstreaming Torture” at Porter Square Books, Cambridge, on July 29 at 7pm. She is a professor of philosophy at the University of San Francisco and a member of the War Times collective. We’re working to set up a few more dates that week, so check back, or contact us to bring Rebecca to your town.

“Boston Remembers Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Moving from Violence to Unity” will be a memorial procession with music, dance, talks and action, Wednesday, August 6, 3-5pm. Gather at the First Church in Boston, 66 Marlborough St and walk to Government Center. Ask your church or organization to endorse, and join a planning committee meeting June 26, probably at 4pm.

The People’s Climate March is scheduled for Sept. 21 in New York City. The oil monopolies and the US military defend a world economic system that is destroying the planet and creating war. Join Mass. Peace Action’s Peace and Climate group to work on these issues and join us in New York with a Peace and Climate contingent.

We rely on our members, both for financial support and for political power. Have you paid your 2014 dues? Don’t forget to renew at masspeaceaction.org/donate!
