About 20 anti-nuclear weapons activists held a rally/speakout in support of the new
nuclear agreement between Iran and 6 world powers. A good sized attentive crowd gathered to listen to the informational speakers.
Cole Harrison read MAPA’s statement welcoming the deal, Joseph Gerson read an AFSC statement, and several others spoke as well.
Peace groups represented were Mass. Peace Action, UJP, AFSC, and the weekly Saturday anti-war vigil, the Committee For Peace And Human Rights.
The rally celebrated the Iran nuclear deal as a step towards a more peaceful Middle East and towards a Mideast WMD Free Zone.
Congress has 60 days to approve or disapprove the deal. We called on Massachusetts members of Congress to speak out strongly in favor and vote to approve.
Sponsored by the Massachusetts Peace Action (MAPA) Middle East Working Group and the Committee for Peace and Human Rights (Saturday vigil group).
