The film “Countdown to Zerø” is playing at Kendall Square Cinema and has been extended through Thursday, August 12. This celebrated film explores the case for a nuclear-free world.
Variety calls Countdown to Zerø “apolitically urgent picture; it will also literally scare the breath out of what will certainly be a worldwide audience.” Watch the trailer!
Mass. Peace Action’s opening weekend event was a special screening held August 1 attended by our members and supporters. Jimmy Tingle, Boston’s favorite political humorist, moderated a discussion period after the film at which people shared their fears, concerns, and proposed strategies.
The film makes the case for total abolition of nuclear weapons. A small but critical first step is ratification of the New START treaty which is now pending action in the Senate. Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown has not yet announced his stance on New START. Peace Action is gathering petitions at the film screenings this week. Contact us to help out!
